As much fun as the season of giving can be, it can be a chaotic time of year that leaves you drained, thanks to all the merrymaking. Worst yet, there’s hardly enough time between family gatherings and ugly sweater parties to change your outfit, much less indulge in skin treatments, so you look your absolute, radiant best in every candid Christmas photo.
Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Institute can help! Our indulgent skin rejuvenation services won’t interrupt your packed calendar, don’t require downtime, and can completely transform dull, tired skin.
Need help deciding which treatments to choose? We’ll give you a quick rundown of the benefits so you can customize your pre-holiday pampering experience and target your areas of concern.
Dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). The result is bright, smooth and glowing skin.
You’ll want to avoid dermaplaning if you’re experiencing active acne, rosacea, or a psoriasis flare up, since the treatment could cause further irritation or excessive skin peeling.
Results from dermaplaning are temporary and last about 3-4 weeks, which is about how long it takes the skin to complete a rejuvenation cycle.
There is no downtime with dermaplaning
Botox®
If you’re concerned about fine lines and wrinkles showing up every time you say “Cheese!” for the camera, Botox® is the answer.
These injections diminish the appearance of crow’s feet, lip lines, and sagging brows by temporarily blocking nerve signals to the muscles in those areas, keeping the skin from contracting and wrinkling. It keeps creases and crinkles at bay for up to four months following treatment but can cause minor bruising and redness at the injection site that typically disappears in around a week.
Before Your Appointment you won’t need to do much to prepare for your appointment other than avoiding NSAIDs like aspirin and ibuprofen. These both thin the blood and can contribute to more bruising. You should not have Botox®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® injections if you have a history of myasthenia gravis (a rare neurological disease) or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
You can also help prevent bruising by skipping that day’s workout and staying upright for at least six hours to prevent blood from rushing to your face.
HydraFacial MD
You can be Red Carpet Ready in as little as 30 minutes, glowing with gorgeous, dewy, and exfoliated skin thanks to HydraFacial MD.
This powerful procedure starts with a deep cleansing treatment to soften and prep the skin for treatment. Then, your provider uses gentle suction to open and unclog your pores, extracting impurities that lead to acne and uneven skin tone. As the oil, dead skin cells, and debris leave your pores, the HydraFacial MD nourishes your skin with a potent peptide serum and moisturizers for a much-needed wintertime boost. A HydraFacial will exfoliate, extract and hydrate, leaving you with a festive glow.
Optional add-ons take your treatment further by addressing specific concerns like dehydration, firmness, discoloration, fine lines, and more. Try the new JLO Beauty hydrating serum for the “JLO Glow”.
There’s absolutely no downtime after HydraFacial MD, and you’ll see the results immediately.
Dermal Fillers
Whether you’re concerned about age-related volume loss or just want an enviable pout in all of your Christmas party pics, ADCI has a full range of dermal fillers, including Juvederm Voluma®, Juvederm Volbella® XC, Juvederm Vollure™ XC, and Merz Aesthetics Belotero®.
These FDA-approved fillers can contour and shape your face by plumping up sagging skin and replacing tissue volume with sterile hyaluronic acid gel. The results are natural, subtle, and transformative but never “overdone.”
You’ll notice an instant youthfulness, with the full results developing over two to three weeks. Similarly to Botox®, you should avoid exercising and applying cosmetics immediately after your treatment to minimize bruising and risk of infection, but you can jump right back into spreading holiday cheer the next day.
Before Your Appointment you’ll want to avoid NSAIDs, Vitamin E, fish oil and blood thinners for 7-10 days before your treatment to prevent bruising. You should also skip facial tweezing, laser hair treatments, or waxing for at least 48 hours to reduce skin irritation.
Typically, dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid can last up to a year or longer. The results depend on the amount of filler injected.
